Designated SREB-State Procurement Contacts
The SREB-ATAlliance maintains a list of individuals in each SREB state who
are directly involved in the procurement of technology and related services for
education at the state level. This core group receives information (primarily
via e-mail) regarding ATAlliance programs for technology and related services.
For example, this group receives ongoing messages regarding the establishment of
RFPs and contracts, and any significant updates. It also receives invitations to
participate in developing and evaluating RFPs.
Why Choose ATAlliance/MiCTA?
A Summary of Program Value
The value of ATAlliance/MiCTA's programs begins and ends with
hand-picked experts doing a lot of hard work to secure the best products and
services at the lowest price. It is unlikely that a single organization could
duplicate the results of this comprehensive RFP process and justify it in terms
of time and expense. Consider this:
A typical nonmember solicitation for technology or
telecommunications-related products or services takes 10 to 16 weeks and costs
about $100,000.
Generally, our comprehensive RFP process will create a savings
of 20% - 30% over a purchase with no RFP and 10% - 20% over an RFP by a single
organization.
By using ATAlliance/MiCTA programs, organizations can avoid the
cost of in-house RFP, and at the same time, know that these programs result from
an RFP process that is time-tested. A $75 annual membership fee allows
participation in any and all programs.
Be Sure You Receive ATAlliance/MiCTA
Programs!
To use an ATAlliance/MiCTA-endorsed or -approved contract, the
vendor typically requires the customer to sign a “Master Participation
Agreement.” This assures that the member receives the terms and conditions of
the ATAlliance/MiCTA program and also facilitates the incorporation of local
terms and conditions. In the near future, samples of Master Participation
Agreements will be added to the vendors section on the MiCTA Web site. If any
particular vendor does not use a Master Participation Agreement, check to be
sure your order is placed under an ATAlliance/MiCTA contract number.
